Kanchenjunga (8586m) is the third highest mountain in the world and second highest in Nepal. It is located in the easternmost part of Nepal bordering Sikkim (an Indian State) to the east and China to the north. One of the most adventurous treks one can find in Nepal. The MilkeDanda Range is a sanctuary for Nepal's National flower, the rhododendron in the eastern side of Nepal and north of Taplejung. The foothills of these mountains get upwards of 3,500 mm of rain per year, three times the amount of annual rainfall as compare to other parts of Nepal. As a result of that, the thick, green lush vegetation. Even at the peak of the winter, the trekking trials are filled with greeneries. The entire trek through the humid forests of the Tamar River basin is an orchid enthusiast's delight!

Best experience with Malung Treks

Claudio Speltoni and Renza Celli from Italy to Nepal. October – December 2018. TWO lengthy trekking with the Agency MALUNG TREKS & EXPEDITION The 1st Trekking, duration 25 days in KANCHANJANGA CONSERVATION AREA; The 2nd Trekking, duration 15 days in MAKALU BARUN NATIONAL PARK. Two challenging and difficult trekking, but also exciting not only for the beauty of the natural landscape, but also for the lovely welcome of the Nepalese people in the several villages that we encountered. We walked long and hard trails through forests of bamboo, rhododendron, mulberries and Himalayan pines, eventually reaching the glaciers, situated above 4500 meters. Spectacular mountain heights, not only the three Kanchajanga (8586-8473 and 8476 meters), Mount Yahung Kang (8463 meters) but also the awesome and majestic heights of the 4 Kahru, Mount Jannm and the Kanfbachen (all six between 7300 and 7900 meters). 40 DAYS TREKKING With guide PRAKASH RAJ and porter BAHADUR RAJ 5 bright and deserved STARS (*****) for both!! PRAKASH RAJ excellent guide: professional, extremely well prepared, knowledgeable of the territories through which we travelled, pointing out, by name, the beautiful mountains, rivers, villages and other locations. Pleasantly conversant, ready to answer our frequent questions on the customs and traditions of the peoples of the land. A particular rare trait, his ability to amiably communicate and interact for such a long period of time and with two clients ‘not so young anymore’. Pr. Prakash’s kindness, patience and congeniality will be remembered with gratitude and affection. The Porter, BOLE! Superb! Strong, courageous and prudent on the more difficult trails. A reserved man, always kind and cheerful even when the fatigue at the end of the day was at times considerable. Much appreciation (*****) also to Mr RAJ KUMAR RAI, the Boss of Malung Treks & Expedition. A kind man, professional and hospitable. 100% reliable!! Claudio and Renza thank Kumar, Prakash and Bole for their respective commitment, availability and honesty in all their dealings with us, their quality and capability have allowed us to realize this journey, beginning with a necklace of yellow flowers and ending with a scarf around our neck. Best Regards, Claudio and Renza Bolzano 26/01/2019
